In 2025, there was no main Triennale der Photographie festival – the three-year cycle was focused on the 9th edition in 2026. As a prelude, an international symposium was held on November 7 and 8, 2025, serving as a thematic kickoff for the 2026 Triennale.

In 2025, there was no main Triennale der Photographie festival on the agenda – the last edition was in 2022, and the next follows in 2026. However, an international symposium was held on November 7 and 8, 2025, as a thematic prelude to the 9th Triennale.
Through lectures, panels, and discussions on the central theme "Alliance, Infinity, Love – in the Face of the Other", the curatorial directions for the 2026 Triennale were prepared. International theorists and curators associated with Mark Sealy were invited. The event took place in Hamburg and was open to the professional audience.
