Overview

As the Trachtensommer takes place every two years, there was no edition in 2025. The previous edition was held in 2024 — as usual on a Saturday in August on the Hanswarft of Hallig Hooge, with dance groups from North Frisia and neighboring regions.

The Trachtensommer is a biennial festival. Therefore, there was no edition in 2025 — the date fell in 2024, with dance and costume presentations during the day and a joint concert in the evening. The costume groups, as usual, traveled from various North German regions via the Hallig ferries from Nordstrand, Schlüttsiel, Föhr, Amrum, and Sylt.

The format has hardly changed over the years: arrival of the groups in the morning, performances during the day on the Hanswarft, joint concert in the evening. The tradition dates back to its founding year in 1997, when a children's and youth dance group was established on Hooge.
