Edition 2025 — Tour de Frömmschdt
The 17th Tour de Frömmschdt 2025 traditionally took place on the third Saturday in August. Hundreds of cyclists of all ages rolled from Sömmerda market square along the Unstrut cycle path to Frömmstedt — passing Kannawurf Castle and the Bilzingsleben stone pits. The family cycling day once again confirmed its status as the most popular sporting event in the Sömmerda district.
The 2025 edition continued the tradition maintained since 2005. Bakery Bergmanns and the town of Sömmerda once again organized the 33 km family cycling day along the Unstrut. Clubs in the villages along the route — Leubingen, Griefstedt, Büchel, Gorsleben, Kannawurf, Kindelbrück — provided musical entertainment and refreshments. At the finish in Frömmstedt, the organizers welcomed participants with bread, rolls, and coffee. The 2025 edition confirmed the date on the third Saturday in August as a fixed point in the summer calendar of the Sömmerda district.
