Edition 2025 — Torch Swimming Lünen

The 39th edition of the Torch Swimming in Lünen once again attracted thousands of onlookers to the Lippe riverbanks in 2025. Around 100 swimmers and divers paraded with torches through the ice-cold water, illuminated rafts accompanied the light procession, and a Bengal fire concluded the evening with spectacular colors.

In 2025, the Torch Swimming once again proved to be one of the most atypical and beautiful Advent traditions in North Rhine-Westphalia. The TauchSportClub Lünen 1976 e.V. and the Cultural Office of the City of Lünen once again coordinated the 200 involved individuals — a logistical feat that impresses every year.

Programme

Torch procession through the city center starting at 5 PM, followed by a Lippe swim with rafts and a Bengal fire finale.
