Edition 2025 — Thumsee Brennt
Thumsee Brennt 2025 took place on Saturday, July 19, 2025, on the Madlbauerwiese at Thumsee near Bad Reichenhall. The Bad Reichenhaller Philharmoniker performed a symphonic summer night program; thousands of guests gathered with picnic blankets and baskets on the lake shore. The evening concluded with the traditional fireworks display over the lake — the namesake staging of the event.
The 2025 edition of "Thumsee Brennt" attracted several thousand visitors to the Madlbauerwiese at Thumsee, as in previous years. The concert was scheduled without an alternative date and took place in summer weather under the open sky — a condition that is not always a given each year, as the event is weather-dependent and would have to be canceled without replacement in case of severe weather.
The orchestra, under the baton of the Bad Reichenhaller Philharmonic conductor, performed a symphonically arranged summer night program; the traditional fireworks display over the lake marked the finale of a balmy summer evening, considered the classical concert highlight of the Berchtesgadener Land region.
