Overview

On September 14, 2025, the Tag des offenen Denkmals in Augsburg took place under the nationwide motto "Value: Priceless or Unpaid?". The city opened dozens of monuments, from the Town Hall and Perlachturm to the Fuggerei and smaller neighborhood monuments. Admission to all sites was free.

The 2025 edition followed the motto "Value: Priceless or Unpaid?" proclaimed by the German Foundation for Monument Protection, which focused on the invisible work of volunteers, restorers, and building researchers. In Augsburg, over 40 monuments participated, supplemented by special events for families and school classes in the preceding days.

Augsburg has been considered one of Bavaria's model cities for this event for years — also due to its broad spectrum of architectural, industrial, and hydraulic monuments. The event, as usual, attracted thousands of visitors from the city and the region.
