Review: Sylter Wintermarkt 2025/2026
In its 8th edition, the market once again benefited from its wind-sheltered location in the Neue Mitte Westerland — crucial for a winter market on a North Sea island. Sylt Event GmbH presented Sylt handicrafts, Austrian specialities, mulled wine and punch, crêpes, and currywurst in the Advent huts.
Families found entertainment on the carousel, in the children's baking workshop, and during Santa Claus visits; the illuminated ponies and the Christmas carriage created the evening's festive light atmosphere. The market ran as usual until early January — extending beyond the days between Christmas and New Year when many Sylt holidaymakers are on the island.
