Overview

The 39th edition of the Sylt Christmas Swim took place on December 26th, 2025, at Brandenburger Strand in Westerland. With water temperatures around 7 degrees Celsius, about 150 registered participants plunged into the North Sea – including numerous guests in costumes. Thousands of onlookers watched the event from the promenade.

Sylt Christmas Swim 2025 – A Look Back

The Sylt Christmas Swim 2025 followed the established ritual: Registration at the Galerie am Meer on the afternoon of December 26th, followed by the swim at Brandenburger Strand near Hotel Miramar. In wintery conditions and with water temperatures around 7 degrees Celsius, the approximately 150 registered swimmers took the classic plunge – many in imaginative costumes.

As in previous years, all participants received a certificate, a mulled wine voucher, and a small souvenir gift. The event continues to be a fixture of the Sylt winter calendar and a flagship event for the island.
