About SWR Big Band Loreleyhalle
The SWR Big Band is one of the most renowned big bands in the European jazz scene. It combines the classic big band tradition with contemporary trends, collaborates with soloists from pop, soul, and world music, and is one of the South West German Broadcasting's (SWR) permanent cultural flagship ensembles.
In May 2026, the Big Band will perform as part of the SWR Regiotour at the Loreleyhalle Sankt Goarshausen. The hall, located not far from the Loreley rock high above the Rhine, is one of the few larger concert venues in the Middle Rhine Valley and offers the necessary acoustics and capacity for a fully staffed big band with brass, rhythm section, and guests.
