Overview

In 2025, Swing in the City once again invited people to free swing dance classes on Königsplatz in Augsburg on several summer dates. Under the guidance of the Hep Cat Club, beginners and advanced dancers danced together outdoors — accessible, free, and right in the public space.

Swing in the City has been a fixture of the Augsburg City Summer programme for years. In 2025, Königsplatz once again transformed into a dance floor between the fountains and Bahnhofstraße on several dates. The Hep Cat Club led the free dance classes, to which all levels were invited without registration requirements.

In case of bad weather, the venue moved to the Hep Cat Club's studio on Viktoriastraße. The series is part of a conscious effort to bring dance culture to public spaces in an accessible way and has become a popular summer event in Augsburg.
