Overview

The 23rd edition of the swb-Dragon Boat Cup once again brought dozens of teams to the harbour basin of the Schaufenster Fischereihafen in June 2025. In colourful dragon boats, teams from companies, clubs, and circles of friends competed for victory over 250 metres and optionally over a nautical mile, cheered on by the audience on the shore. With around thirty teams and a great festival atmosphere, the edition confirmed the cup's reputation as a colourful summer highlight of the port city — a blend of sporting competition and maritime Hanseatic flair at the mouth of the Weser.

In 2025, the 23rd swb-Dragon Boat Cup followed the proven format: a race day in the harbour basin at the Schaufenster Fischereihafen with dozens of teams from companies, clubs, and circles of friends. Paddling took place over 250 metres and optionally over a nautical mile. Around thirty teams competed, and numerous spectators followed the colourful spectacle from the shore. Organised by the Kanu-Verein-Unterweser, the cup remained a firm summer meeting point for water sports and conviviality in Bremerhaven.
