Summery wine event in front of the Roman Villa Urbana Longuich with live music and tarte flambée
The Roman Villa Urbana Longuich-Kirsch is one of the most impressive archaeological sites on the Middle Mosel. Its reconstructed wall remains, the bathhouse, and the garden terraces provide a special setting for every open-air event. With the SummerWineParty, the Longuich winemakers and the local municipality are making targeted use of this heritage: wine estates and restaurateurs who stand for a contemporary, often light and crisp interpretation of Mosel wine are presented against the ancient backdrop.
Saturday evening starts at 6 p.m. and is aimed at connoisseurs who want to end the summer with wine, music, and culinary snacks. In the glass: Riesling, white and red wine cuvées, as well as Pet-Nats and sparkling wine specialties from the new generation of winemakers. Accompanied by homemade tarte flambée, regional delicacies, and live music under the open sky — a format that conveys more of a wine bar atmosphere than a classic wine fair (Weinkirmes).
On Sunday afternoon, the character shifts: From 2 p.m., the site opens again, this time also with coffee and cake offerings. Families, walkers, and hikers on the Moselsteig trail will find a relaxed stop at one of Longuich's most prominent attractions. The wine and food offerings remain, making the SummerWineParty a weekend event that appeals to both day and evening audiences.
The SummerWineParty is part of Longuich's summer program, which is traditionally complemented by the Weinstraßenkirmes (Wine Route Fair) in August (August 8–10, 2026). Those who extend the weekend can combine both dates for a mini Mosel wine trip with overnight stays in the village.
The format of the SummerWineParty 2026 features two complementary daily segments. Saturday evening is designed as an open-air wine bar: Longuich and neighboring wineries present crisp wines, complemented by tarte flambée stands, other culinary offerings, and live music under the open sky.
Sunday starts in a more family-friendly manner with coffee and cake from 2 p.m. Wine and food offerings remain, with the addition of pastries and non-alcoholic options. This makes Sunday particularly suitable for families and day-trippers from the Trier region.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in spring/summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
Specific band performances, setlists, and participating wineries will be communicated via the Longuich municipality and its event page.
