A New Format with a Clear Profile
The Südbrookmerland Community Festival is relatively young in its current form – born from the desire to combine the shooting festivals, trade exhibitions, and general village festivals of the various districts into a single community-wide event. Südbrookmerland consists of several historically developed districts (Moordorf, Victorbur, Bedekaspel, Theene, Münkeboe, Wiegboldsbur, among others); the community festival aims to celebrate this diversity while strengthening a shared sense of identity. The name Verbundfest perfectly captures this ambition.
Three Pillars of the Festival
- Shooting Sports – the shooting clubs from the districts contribute their traditions: King's shooting, parade, shooting competitions, club encounters
- Trade Exhibition – the Südbrookmerland Trade Association presents products and services from local businesses, ranging from crafts and agricultural technology to services and gastronomy
- Folk Festival – a classic festival fair area with carousels, stalls, live music, and dancing
Programme Highlights
The official opening takes place on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the Moordorfer Marktplatz by Mayor Thomas Erdwiens. In the evening, the band Sixpack, well-known in East Frisia, performs, providing the musical highlight of Saturday evening. The absolute peak follows at 10:30 p.m.: a grand fireworks display will be set off at Zingelstraße 1 – traditionally accompanied by a large crowd of spectators. On Sunday, the community church service and the grand parade of all clubs through the town centre are the main events.
Flea Market and Vintage Car Meet
Alongside the main programme, a flea market and a vintage car meet offer additional attractions. The flea market attracts private sellers and small traders from the entire Aurich district. The vintage car meet brings together lovingly maintained classic and youngtimer vehicles of all classes – from tractor veterans and classic saloons to motorcycle rarities. For families, there is also a children's programme spread across the market square and neighbouring garden areas.

The 2026 Community Festival builds on the successful premiere of the 'Verbundfest' concept. Shooting clubs, the trade association, and the community administration are organising the festival together.

- 11 a.m.–5 p.m.: Vintage car meet
- 1 p.m.–5 p.m.: Children's programme with carousel, bouncy castle, face painting
- 3 p.m.: King's shooting by the shooting clubs

Admission
Free entry to the entire festival grounds, fireworks, and parade. Food, drinks, and rides are paid for on-site.
Getting There
By car via the B72 from Aurich (approx. 10 km) or Emden (approx. 18 km). Several designated parking areas on the outskirts of the town. By bus: VEJ lines from Aurich and Emden, check timetable for the festival weekend.
Fireworks
Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:30 p.m. at Zingelstraße 1. Recommended viewing points: around the Moordorfer Marktplatz and along Zingelstraße. Early arrival recommended due to high visitor numbers.
Families
Family-friendly. Children's carousel, stalls, ice cream and sweet stands. Changing tables and accessible toilets available on the festival grounds.
