Second edition of the Street Food Festival at Schlossplatz, running parallel to the Saarländer-Franzosen-Tage
Street Food Festivals have established themselves as a popular format over the last ten years. They combine the mobility and diversity of the food truck scene with an open-air atmosphere and summer vibes. Unlike traditional weekly market food, the focus is on immediate preparation and on-site consumption, complemented by an explicit international range.
Zweibrücken's proximity to the border — a few kilometers to the Saarland border, just over 15 kilometers to the French border — naturally brings diversity to a Street Food Festival. French crêpe stands, Saarland specialists for Lyoner and Schwenker, German food trucks from the Palatinate and Saarland, as well as international specialists find an ideal marketplace here.
After a successful premiere in 2025, the festival is entering its second edition in 2026. This confirmation shows that the concept resonates in Zweibrücken and the format can become a permanent fixture in the summer calendar. The organizer is the city marketing department of Zweibrücken in cooperation with Gemeinsamhandel Zweibrücken e.V.
The temporal overlap with the Saarländer-Franzosen-Tage is programmatic. Both events benefit from each other — the food trucks offer culinary accompaniment to the cross-border festival weekend; the festival days bring audiences to the festival. Free admission to both events.
The second edition in 2026 builds on the successful premiere in 2025. The connection with the Saarländer-Franzosen-Tage creates an ideal synergy between culinary offerings and social occasion.
The trucks will be announced in advance on zweibruecken.de — from French crêpe specialists and Saarland Schwenker stands to Asian street food providers.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the city marketing department. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
