New Running Series for 2026

In 2026, the Grafschaft Bentheim has launched a new running series that brings together several existing running events under a common competition umbrella. Three sports clubs are jointly driving this initiative.

Bentheimer Waldlauf as the Kick-off

The series begins with the Bentheimer Waldlauf on April 18, 2026, in the Bentheim spa park. This sporting event is traditionally the first major running opportunity of the year in the region, making it an ideal season opener.

Further Running Events Throughout the Year

Additional major running events will follow in the summer and autumn. Classics such as the Emlichheimer Pfingstlauf (May 22, 2026) are among the potential components of the series. More running events are planned for the fall.

Stronger Together

Bundling multiple running events into one series offers several advantages: it professionalizes the events, creates a shared brand perception, and motivates participants to complete multiple runs. This, in turn, enhances the sporting profile of the Bentheimer Land region.

Three Sports Clubs as Organizers

Behind the series are three sports clubs from the Grafschaft Bentheim, who are pooling their individual strengths to create added value for the region. This form of club cooperation is exemplary.
