Spring in the City Centre
The Stadtfrühling has been the central spring kickoff for Braunschweig's city centre for years. Organized by Braunschweig Stadtmarketing GmbH, it brings together retail, gastronomy, local clubs, and supra-regional exhibitors in a two-day program that enlivens the city centre and attracts visitors from the entire region. With the Sunday shopping, it is also an important economic date for the city centre retailers.
Mobility Fair as a Focus
The focus in 2026 is on the mobility fair. E-bikes and cargo bikes, classic bicycles, vintage cars, and modern electric cars will be presented on the main shopping streets. Car-sharing providers, the local transport company BSVG, railway companies, and micro-mobility providers (e-scooters, e-rollers) will provide information about their services and often allow test rides. The combination of tradition (vintage cars) and future (e-mobility) is what makes the Stadtfrühling so appealing.
Sunday Shopping and City Life
Sunday, April 26th, is a Sunday with shopping – the city centre retailers will be open from 1 PM to 6 PM and use the Stadtfrühling as a sales opportunity. Cafés and restaurants will offer special deals, and many shops have prepared promotions. The city centre, especially on this Sunday, is the urban centre of a wide catchment area, stretching from Wolfenbüttel via Salzgitter and Wolfsburg to Goslar.
Atmospheric Ambiance and Family Program
Accompanying the mobility fair, there will be walking acts, small stage programs, face painting for children, bouncy castles, and hands-on activities for families. The city centre's gastronomic offerings will be complemented by food trucks and small stalls. The Stadtfrühling is free to enter.
