Bad Oldesloe in the Stormarn District

Bad Oldesloe is the district town of Stormarn in southeastern Schleswig-Holstein, located between Hamburg and Lübeck on the River Trave. With around 25,000 inhabitants, the town is an important administrative and supply centre for the rural region and is conveniently located on the A1 motorway and the Hamburg–Lübeck railway line.

Three Days of City Centre Festivities

Every year in June, the Stadtfest Bad Oldesloe transforms the city centre into a continuous celebration zone. Several stages, street food stalls, amusement rides, and a beer and wine garden with live music characterise the cityscape. The main stage at the market square is the centrepiece, the colourful festival mile runs through the pedestrian zone, and the Kurpark serves as the family area.

U27 Youth Stage — A Bad Oldesloe Speciality

A remarkable speciality is the "U27 auf die Bühne!" (U27 on stage!) youth stage — its own stage, run by the municipal youth work, featuring exclusively artists under 27 years of age. Bands, solo artists, DJs, and dance groups from the region apply through calls for proposals from the city and create their own programme on Friday and Saturday evenings. It is one of the few town festivals that so explicitly focuses on promoting young talent.
