The Green Fingers for the 100th Anniversary
In 1926, an urban development idea was born in Osnabrück that is unique throughout Germany today: the Green Fingers. Thirteen open space corridors have since extended from the city's periphery to the city center, ensuring local recreation, fresh air, and habitat connectivity. In 2026, this concept celebrates its centenary with a year-round festival program.
Schölerberg — A Central Green Finger
The Schölerberg is one of Osnabrück's most well-known Green Fingers. With its park, forest, museum surroundings, and recreational facilities, it serves as both a local recreation and educational site. It is also home to the Museum am Schölerberg, a natural history museum with a planetarium and environmental education center.
