Edition 2025 — Sportfestival Emscherland
The premiere of the Sportfestival Emscherland took place on Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 11 AM to 5 PM in the Emscherland Nature and Water Experience Park. Opening by Deputy Mayor Marita Bergmaier. Program included ring tennis, korfball, flag football, tennis introductions, cheerleading, rowing courses, DLRG demonstrations, circus activities, and skill games for children. Nordic walking and fitness training for seniors.
Successful Premiere 2025
The first Sportfestival Emscherland on May 25, 2025, was part of the also newly introduced "Week of Sports" by the City of Recklinghausen. Opening at 11 AM by Deputy Mayor Marita Bergmaier. For over six hours, numerous clubs presented accessible sports offerings in the natural environment of the renatured Emscherland Park — a format that worked immediately and will be continued in 2026 with expanded clubs and disciplines.
