About Sportfest Oberkail
The Sportfest Oberkail is the most important summer festival of the sports club SV Oberkail and the club community of the Eifel village. From July 3rd to 5th, 2026, the sports field will be transformed into a lively festival ground with football tournaments, competitions, catering, live music, and a family program. Three days of sport, games, and conviviality in the middle of the Eifel landscape.
For decades, the Sportfest has been a fixed date in the Eifel summer calendar, attracting teams and visitors from the entire Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm.

Club Life in the Eifel
SV Oberkail is one of the central clubs in the village and shapes club life throughout the year with its sporting and social activities. The summer Sportfest is the highlight of the club's work and brings not only active participants but the entire village community to the sports field.
Three Days of Program
The Sportfest spans three days – from Friday to Sunday, July 3rd to 5th, 2026. The opening on Friday evening usually features an opening beer, a small welcome, and live music. Saturday focuses on football tournaments, competitions, children's contests, and demonstrations. Sunday brings the final highlight with a morning pint (Frühschoppen), further sporting competitions, and a family afternoon.
Football and More
Football matches are at the center: amateur teams, club teams, youth teams, and special matches like bachelors versus married men or women versus men provide excitement and amusement. Other competitions such as tug-of-war, Bobbycar races, or skill games for children can also be included in the program.
Catering and Music
A festival tent with catering – bratwurst, fries, schnitzel, cake, beer, and wine – is open during the day and in the evening. Live music with local bands, DJ sets, or a music band shapes the festival evenings. The atmosphere is familial and convivial, characterized by the club culture of the Eifel.
Family Program
For the youngest guests, there is a bouncy castle, face painting, lucky dips, and games. The family program ensures that the Sportfest is also attractive for families and represents a true village festival beyond the purely sporting competitions.

The Sportfest Oberkail 2026 starts on Friday, July 3rd in the evening with the opening and live music in the festival tent, focuses on sports on Saturday, July 4th with football tournaments and competitions, and concludes on Sunday, July 5th with a morning pint (Frühschoppen) and a family afternoon. SV Oberkail organizes the three-day festival with its usual club efforts. Teams from the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm register for the tournaments, and the village community contributes with catering and setup/cleanup. A true Eifel village summer festival with all its facets.
