Overview

The 2025 Games Festival took place over a weekend in May at the Franconian Open-Air Museum Fladungen, bringing together historical and modern games in the museum's courtyards and meadows. Families from the Rhön and the adjacent regions of Thuringia and Hesse used the event as an intergenerational outing.

As in previous years, the Open-Air Museum opened its grounds for the Games Festival in 2025. Hands-on stations with Schussern (playing marbles), Stöckeln (walking on stilts), and other old game forms were featured alongside modern family games and a marble-themed world. The mix specifically appealed to children, parents, and grandparents simultaneously.

The event has been one of the museum's most popular attractions in the Bavarian Rhön for years.
