Overview

The 2025 special tour for Queen Charlotte's birthday at Mirow Castle was a regular part of the educational program of the State Palaces, Gardens and Art Collections of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The tour traced the life of the princess born there – from Mirow to London, from a Mecklenburg duchess's daughter to the Queen of Great Britain and Ireland.

In 2025, Mirow Castle again invited visitors on May 19 for a special tour on the occasion of Queen Charlotte's birthday. Princess Sophie Charlotte (1744–1818), born in Mirow, married King George III in 1761 and, as Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, shaped English court culture for almost six decades.

The tour utilized rooms and exhibits from the Castle Museum to vividly explain the Mecklenburg-British noble connection. The organizer was the Foundation of State Palaces, Gardens and Art Collections of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
