Overview
The 34th edition of SommerSound took place in 2025, as usual, over five Sundays during the NRW summer holidays at the music pavilion of Gelsenkirchen-Buer's Stadtgarten. Two concerts each (6:00 PM + 7:30 PM), free admission, focus on contemporary folk. The series was once again very well attended, both by regular Gelsenkirchen audiences and visitors from the surrounding area.
In 2025, the series unfolded as usual in the historic pavilion — five relaxed summer evenings with live music and free admission. The City of Gelsenkirchen drew a positive conclusion. A few months later, on March 26, 2026, the pavilion burned down, posing challenges for the 2026 season.
