Overview
The Sommermarkt im Südviertel 2025 traditionally took place in July between Witteringstraße and Schornstraße — three days of street flea market by residents, craft stalls, cocktails, and street food with live music on Saturday evening. Families found children's activities opposite bildwerkeins, the ifm apprenticeship stand, and Kaufhaus Süd information. Organized by Interessengemeinschaft Süd e.V. — a format that continues in 2026.

In 2025, residents and artisans once again transformed Essen's Südviertel into a summer mile — flea market finds outside their doors, curated artisan stalls, cocktails, street food, and live music on Saturday evening. A neighborhood festival with a true district identity, returning in 2026.
