Three Days of Sidecar World Championship

The Sidecar Festival Oschersleben is an extraordinary motorsport event: for three days, it brings together the international sidecar scene on one of Germany's most significant race tracks. The focus is on the FIM Sidecar World Championship — the official world championship for motorcycle outfit racing, a discipline with a long tradition. Alongside this, the Northern Sidecar Cup, the Camathias Cup (named after the legendary Swiss rider Florian Camathias), and several demonstration series will take place. In total: over 200 outfits from all over Europe.

The venue is the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben — a 3.67 km FIA-approved race track, opened in 1997 and since then one of Germany's most important race tracks. The track is known for its technically demanding layout: fast straights, hard braking zones, long corners. This is precisely what makes it attractive for sidecar riders, as it fully showcases the unique riding experience of outfits — the rider and the 'passenger' who actively leans into the corners.

Demo and Taxi Rides

A special feature of the Sidecar Festival: it's not just professionals and semi-professional teams competing. There are demo rides for historic outfits and taxi rides, where spectators can experience a few laps in the sidecar. This makes the event one of the rare motorsport festivals where you, as a fan, can not only watch but also become part of the spectacle — of course, after registration and with an experienced driver.

Börde District as a Motorsport Hub

The Motorsport Arena is located in the Börde district in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, just under 30 km southwest of Magdeburg. It is one of the few race tracks in eastern Germany with international renown and is used annually for DTM, ADAC GT Masters, IDM, and several international series. The Sidecar Festival is a permanent fixture in the annual calendar — and the last major motorsport event of the season before the winter break.
