Overview

As every summer, the ACO Thormannhalle on the Carlshütte grounds was a central venue for the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in 2025. International soloists and the Festival Orchestra performed in the historic industrial hall parallel to the NordArt art exhibition — a unique crossover of industrial culture, contemporary art, and classical music.

Review: SHMF at Carlshütte 2025

In 2025, the ACO Thormannhalle in Büdelsdorf once again became an SHMF concert venue. The Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival has been using the Carlshütte site as one of its most spectacular industrial venues for many years — the combination of brick architecture, the NordArt art exhibition, and classical concerts has created a distinct identity.

As usual, the SHMF spread its approximately 200 concerts across the state from July to August. The NordArt concerts were among the most sought-after tickets — they combine top-class programs with an atmospheric industrial backdrop that no classical concert hall can offer.
