Overview
Meldorf Cathedral was also a venue for the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in 2025. Several concerts in the summer brought chamber music and sacred music to the mighty brick church on the west coast — one of the most acoustically impressive SHMF experiences for the audience from the Dithmarschen district and surrounding areas.
During the SHMF summer of 2025, various chamber ensembles and soloists performed in Meldorf Cathedral. The powerful acoustics of the 13th-century brick building lent a special depth to the chamber concerts and song recitals, which the SHMF achieves in this form at few other venues. As at all festival venues, audiences from the Dithmarschen district, the west coast, and beyond were drawn to the events — a typical summer cultural moment in northern Schleswig-Holstein.
