Edition 2025 — SHMF Glücksburg
The Glücksburg Castle Park is not yet listed as an SHMF venue in the 2025 festival programme. The 40th SHMF edition took place from July 5 to August 31, 2025, with numerous concerts at venues across Schleswig-Holstein, but without a fixed Glücksburg date at the castle. The castle park will only be included in the programme with the 41st festival edition in 2026 — the concert by Daniel Hope and Nils Landgren marks the official premiere of the venue.
SHMF 2025 — Without Glücksburg
The 40th edition of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival ran from July 5 to August 31, 2025. The programme comprised around 200 concerts at over 100 venues throughout Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Denmark, and Lower Saxony. Glücksburg Castle Park was not yet among the permanent SHMF venues in 2025 — although the moated castle was used for individual cultural events in 2025, the SHMF did not perform there.
By incorporating Glücksburg Castle Park as a new venue in 2026, the festival is once again expanding its network of performance spaces in northern Schleswig-Holstein — a movement that has characterised the SHMF since its founding in 1986: new locations are added each year, while others rest for a season.
