4th edition of the EDM open-air on July 4, 2026, on the sandy beach of Schlotmanns See in Hövelhof — the most relaxed festival setting in the region
The Senne Beach Festival is one of the most unusual EDM open-air concepts in Ostwestfalen-Lippe. It is organized on Schlotmanns See, an old gravel pit lake on the southern edge of the Senne — the heath landscape south of Bielefeld, which belongs to the Senne military training area and the Teutoburg Forest / Eggegebirge Nature Park. The lake has a real sandy beach with sunbathing lawns — the festival is literally celebrated on the sand, against a natural backdrop that is incomparable to anything in the Ruhr area or Münsterland. The organizer themselves describes the location as 'the most relaxed festival location in the region'.
The 4th edition is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2026, starting at 12:00 PM. The presale started on March 7, 2026, via Ticket.io — with a limit of a maximum of 10 tickets per buyer to prevent scalping. The first thousand tickets at €27 sold out within a few hours. Anyone who wants to attend the festival in 2026 should therefore wait for the next sales date on sennekult.de or the social media channels.
Programmatically, the festival clearly positions itself as an EDM Open-Air — with national and international top DJs from the House, Trance, Techno, and Hardstyle spectrum. The organizer traditionally releases the lineup gradually in the months before the festival — however, tickets are usually sold out before the first acts are announced, which signals confidence in the selection of the Sennekult organizers. 2026 Program: not yet finalized (as of Spring).
Behind the festival is the non-profit association Sennekult Hövelhof e.V., which organizes the festival with over 100 volunteers — from setup and stage logistics to ticket sales at the entrance. This completely voluntary support structure is a rarity in today's festival scene, where most EDM events are produced by commercial promoters. The association's character is visibly shaping the festival: deliberately low ticket prices (€27), profits are reinvested in future editions and local projects, and the atmosphere is familiar rather than corporate.
The Senne Beach Festival is accessible from the age of 16. The sandy beach makes classic festival logistics complex — a security team, professional medical services, and a clearly separated access concept between festival and bathing zones are established. Those with a ticket can access the water without intruding on the daily bathing activities of other guests.
Hövelhof is a small town in the Paderborn district with around 16,000 inhabitants, located at the transition from the Paderborn region to the Senne. The Senne is one of the last large heath landscapes in Germany — characterized by sand, pine forests, moors, heath areas, and natural streams. Hövelhof sees itself as the 'Gateway to the Senne'; the Senne Beach Festival is an expression of this self-image, connecting the region's younger generation with a natural landscape that otherwise only hikers or shepherds know.
The Senne Beach Festival 2026 is the 4th edition of the sandy beach open-air at Schlotmanns See in Hövelhof. Festival starts at 12 PM, ends at night — the exact end time will be announced with the program.
Sennekult Hövelhof e.V. traditionally releases the lineup gradually in the weeks before the festival. Experience shows that tickets sell out even before the first DJ announcement — a vote of confidence earned over three successful editions. Exact acts and stage structure to follow in Spring/early Summer 2026.
