The Seniorenwoche is explicitly tailored to the needs of senior citizens: program content, dates, venues, and accessibility are designed so that seniors can participate without barriers. 22 individual events over six days form a dense program coordinated by the city of Kaiserslautern in cooperation with senior organizations, cultural institutions, and associations.

Stiftskirche and K in Lautern as central venues

The Stiftskirche is the venue for concerts, devotions, and ceremonies; in May 2026, it is the center of many anniversary events anyway (see anniversary stage). The Kulturzentrum K in Lautern offers a modern event hall for concerts, readings, and lectures. These two central locations are complemented by other venues in the city center.

Program spectrum

The program spectrum is broad: concerts with classical music, operetta, and Schlager; lectures on city history; readings by Kaiserslautern authors; city tours with a senior focus; dance events at an appropriate pace; social coffee afternoons; film screenings; workshops on topics such as digital aids or health in old age.
