Overview
The 79th Schwelmer Heimatfest 2025, as is traditional, drew hundreds of thousands of visitors to Schwelm's city center. The historical city procession, the grand Kirmes with 160 showmen, the historical Heimatfest parade on the first Sunday of September, and the grand fireworks display were the highlights. The Schwelm Neighborhood Associations showcased their skills in the traditional competition for the most beautiful contribution.
The 79th Heimatfest 2025 prepared the ground for the major anniversary in 2026. Three weeks of festival program — from the historical city procession to the grand Heimatfest parade — once again established the central importance of the festival for Schwelm's identity. With its 80th edition in 2026, the Heimatfest reaches a historic anniversary year.
