Zasenbeck – A Village Community with a Future

Zasenbeck is one of the districts of the town of Wittingen in the Gifhorn district. With a few hundred inhabitants, it is a typical Lower Saxon village whose identity is significantly shaped by local clubs. The Schützenverein (marksmen's club), the Jungschützen (young marksmen), and the tradition of the Kinderschützenfest make Zasenbeck a vibrant example of community life in action.

Double Anniversary in 2026

Two special occasions coincide in 2026: The Jungschützen Zasenbeck celebrate their 70th anniversary, and the Kinderschützenfest marks its 100th anniversary. This dual recognition gives the already cherished festival special significance. For three days, tradition, commitment, and youth development will be the focus.

Flag Consecration on June 20th

The official start is the flag consecration on June 20th. A new flag will be consecrated in a solemn ceremony – a traditional act in marksmen's traditions, connecting generations. Friendly clubs will be present and will also display their own flags.

Dance Evenings with Party Sensation

On the evenings of June 20th and 21st, the band Party Sensation will provide the dance music. The public dance evenings are not only for club members but for all residents and guests of the region. With current pop, Schlager, and party hits, the band ensures a great atmosphere in the festival tent.

Schützenfest with Tradition

In addition to the flag consecration and dance evenings, the program includes classic Schützenfest elements: shooting competitions, proclamation of the king, and a parade. The Kinderschützenfest, held as part of the main festival, receives special attention with its 100th-anniversary celebration – a tradition that has been unbroken since 1926.

District of Wittingen with its Own Identity

Despite its formal affiliation with the town of Wittingen, Zasenbeck has preserved its own identity. The Schützenfest is an expression of this independence and, at the same time, an occasion to come together with neighbors from the town and the region.
