Shooting Tradition in Wüsting

Wüsting is one of the districts of the municipality of Hude (Oldenburg) and is home to an active shooting club that has been organizing the Whitsun weekend as a Schützenfest date for generations. The festival is both a club festival and a village festival, bringing together people from Wüsting of all ages.

Whit Saturday — Free Beer Tapping and King's Shooting

The kick-off on Whit Saturday, May 23rd, 2026, will feature free beer tapping and king's shooting at the shooting stand. In the evening, the Whitsun party with live music and free admission follows — a format that appeals to both young and older festival-goers.

Whit Sunday — Reception and Proclamation

On Whit Sunday, May 24th, 2026, the program begins at 1 PM with the reception of guest clubs. At 5 PM, the proclamation of the new shooting royalty follows — the central moment of the weekend. Afterwards, the King's dinner with the new court takes place.

Whit Monday — Day of the Wüsting Clubs

Whit Monday, May 25th, 2026, is the day of the Wüsting clubs. From 2 PM onwards, the local clubs — from sports and music to social initiatives — will present themselves on the festival grounds. This turns the Schützenfest into a showcase of Wüsting's entire village life.

Eventhof Urban

The venue is Eventhof Urban in Hude-Wüsting (Raiffeisenstraße 1). The professionally equipped event location offers a festival tent, sanitary facilities, and catering infrastructure, ensuring the weekend can take place without the typical limitations of mobile marquees.
