SV Urneburg is rooted in the Urneburg district of the municipality of Ganderkesee and is one of the twelve member clubs of the Ganderkeseer Schützenbund. The club maintains a clubhouse, shooting ranges, and a festival grounds where the annual Schützenfest takes place.
Unlike most clubs in the Ganderkeseer Schützenbund, SV Urneburg celebrates its Schützenfest over three days — from Saturday to Monday. This extension allows for an even more packed program: bird shooting, king shooting, festival parade, family day, king's dinner, and a convivial musical conclusion on festival Monday.
The central moment of the weekend is the proclamation of the new shooting royalty on Sunday evening at 7:30 PM. The new shooting kings and queens are adorned with the king's chain, the outgoing king is bid farewell, and the new court is led to the king's dinner.
The third festival day on Monday is characterized by conviviality — morning pint, shared lunch with the new court, and a relaxed conclusion in the afternoon and evening.
