Stolzenau — Gateway to the Middle Weser

Stolzenau on the Weser is the central municipality of the Mittelweser collective municipality in the Nienburg/Weser district. With its historic market street, its location on the Weser river, and its vibrant club scene, Stolzenau is also the social centre of the region. The annual Schützenfest is the highlight of Stolzenau's club year and one of the biggest dates in the calendar of events for the collective municipality.

Venues in the Town Centre

Unlike many Schützenfeste that are confined to a single fairground, the Stolzenau festival uses several central locations: the concert venue at Schulstraße 5, the market square as the starting point for the parade on Sunday, and the Weserkampfbahn as the location for the concluding family festival. This distribution across the town centre enhances its character as a true town festival and integrates the entire village centre.

Four Days of Full Programme

Thursday 18.06: Opening concert on Schulstraße 5 from 7 p.m., children's afternoon shooting, torchlight procession at 10 p.m. through the town centre. Friday: Senior citizens' afternoon at 3 p.m. with coffee and cake, proclamation of the King at 5 p.m., followed by a dance evening at 8 p.m. Saturday: King's Ball with live band or DJ. Sunday: Children's king shooting on Sunday afternoon, grand parade at 2 p.m. starting from the market square, followed by a family festival on the Weserkampfbahn with games, entertainment, and refreshments.

Friendly Clubs and Bands

Friendly shooting clubs from the entire Middle Weser region participate in the Sunday parade — from Bücken in the north to Stolzenau-Hoyer in the south. Bands and fanfares from the district provide the musical accompaniment. The parade attracts thousands of spectators along the streets of Stolzenau's town centre.
