Schützenfest in Stirpe-Oelingen

The Schützenfest Stirpe-Oelingen is the annual traditional festival of the Bohmte district of the same name. The district combines the formerly independent farming communities of Stirpe and Oelingen and maintains a shared tradition with the Schützenfest. The marksmen's club is one of the central pillars of village club life.

Third Weekend in June 2026

The 2026 edition runs on Saturday, June 20, and Sunday, June 21 at the Schützenplatz Stirpe-Oelingen. The festival thus falls on the long weekend around the astronomical start of summer — a traditional time for Schützenfeste in Lower Saxony.

Schützenfest Classics

As is customary for Schützenfeste in the Osnabrück region, the festival includes a clear program of traditions: bird shooting, king's competition, proclamation of the new king and queen, festive parade through the district, king's dinner, dance evening with a live band. The Schützen catering provides for the guests over the two festival days.

Bohmte — Municipality with Several Schützenfeste

The municipality of Bohmte comprises several districts, each of which cultivates its own marksmen's traditions: Bohmte itself, Hunteburg, Bohmterheide, and Stirpe-Oelingen. The Schützenfest Stirpe-Oelingen is part of this network and complements the municipality's annual offering of traditions in northwestern Osnabrück Land.
