Municipality of Stelle and the Marksmen's Club

Stelle is a municipality in the district of Harburg on the Elbe, southeast of Hamburg. The local marksmen's club (Schützenverein) preserves the marksmen's tradition and hosts the annual Schützenfest on the Schützenplatz Stelle. The municipality of Stelle belongs to the Elbmarsch region and is connected to Hamburg via the S-Bahn line S3.

Cooperation with SV Ashausen

A special feature of the Stelle Schützenfest is the cooperation with the Ashausen marksmen's club (Schützenverein). Both clubs work closely together and support each other at their main festivals. This cooperation is an expression of the established club relationships in the region and ensures broad participation in the festivals of both clubs.

The Schützenplatz Stelle is the club grounds and provides the spatial requirements for a three-day Schützenfest. The festival tent, shooting range, and outdoor areas are designed so that all program points are easily accessible.

Weekday Festival Days

Unlike most Schützenfeste in the region, which take place on weekends, the Stelle festival runs on weekdays from Tuesday to Thursday. This date structure is a peculiarity of the Stelle club and creates a specific atmosphere—less mass audience, but concentrated participation of the marksmen families and loyal festival visitors. The Zapfenstreich on Tuesday at 9 PM ceremonially opens the festival, and the banquet on Thursday at 11:30 AM forms the traditional highlight.

The traditional banquet on Thursday at 11:30 AM is more than just a shared meal: it is the recognition of the monarchs and the marksmen families who sustain club life. The festival speech, awards, and shared meal form the center of the festival and underscore the ceremonial character of the marksmen's tradition.
