Schützenfest Scheuerfeld

The Schützenfest Scheuerfeld takes place annually in late summer on the 'In der Muhlau' festival grounds. The organizer is the Scheuerfeld Shooting Club, which, in conjunction with the surrounding shooting clubs of the VG Betzdorf-Gebhardshain, cultivates a vibrant piece of Westerwald club culture.

Marksmanship Tradition in the Hellertal Valley

Like many Westerwald shooting clubs, Scheuerfeld maintains a traditional club culture where young marksmen and old hands train and celebrate side by side. Competitions, joint excursions, and, of course, the annual Schützenfest form the backbone of club life.

Coronation in the Muhlau

The highlight of the festival is the coronation of the new shooting king or queen, often accompanied by youth and ladies' majesties. The coronation takes place in the festival tent before the assembled shooting and village community and is accompanied by marching music, gun salutes, and a festive parade.

Festival Tent and Accompanying Program

The festival tent on the Muhlau offers space for evening dances, morning pint gatherings, and family programs. Live bands or DJs provide entertainment in the evening, while during the day, children's programs, catering, and social gatherings take center stage. Friendly shooting clubs from Wissen, Altenkirchen, Daaden, Herdorf, and Betzdorf regularly send delegations.

Social Club Network

The festival is a meeting point for generations and an important element of village life. Proceeds from the festival operations flow into club activities, especially youth development and investments in the shooting range and festival grounds.
