Three-day Schützenfest of the St. Hubertus Schützenbruderschaft Scharrel from July 11th to 13th, 2026
The St. Hubertus Schützenbruderschaft Scharrel is one of the traditional marksmen's associations in the Saterland municipality. The patron saint Hubertus—patron saint of hunters and marksmen—points to the close connection between the marksmen's tradition and Catholic piety in the Oldenburg Münsterland and the Saterland region. Scharrel is the main town of the Saterland municipality, and the Schützenfest is one of the village's major summer festivals.
The three-day festival follows the classic schedule of North German Schützenfeste: collection of the king on Saturday, festive procession, church service, king's dinner, proclamation and coronation of the new royal court, and evening dances in the festival tent with a live band. Additionally, there are children's king shooting, cup competitions, and the traditional morning pint on Monday.
Schützenfest Saturday, July 11th, Sunday, July 12th, and Monday, July 13th, 2026, at the Schützenplatz Scharrel. Current information and detailed program: hubertus-scharrel.com.
The St. Hubertus Schützenbruderschaft Scharrel will publish the final program for 2026 in early summer on hubertus-scharrel.com. The structure of the three-day festival follows the proven cornerstones of previous years.
