Traditional Marksmen's Festival of the Privileged Marksmen's Guild Salzgitter-Bad on the Pfingstanger
The epithet "Die Privilegierten" refers to historical privileges that marksmen's guilds enjoyed in many North German cities from the early modern period onwards. Marksmen's guilds were often endowed with special powers in defense and social prestige. The "Privileged" marksmen of Salzgitter-Bad preserve this heritage to this day and organize their festival with great attention to historical details and a sense of tradition.
The Pfingstanger fairground in Salzgitter-Bad is the traditional home of the marksmen's festival as well as other folk festivals such as the spring market. The spacious grounds offer room for the festival tent, amusement rides, stalls, and social gatherings after the shooting competitions.
Beyond the marksmen's competitions, the festival offers classic folk festival attractions: carousels, bumper cars, throwing stalls, shooting galleries for folk festival marksmen, candy stalls, bratwurst, and beer. Live music and dance evenings in the festival tent ensure a lively atmosphere in the evening.
As usual, the "Privileged" Marksmen's Guild will publish the exact date and program for 2026 in the spring. Interested parties can find information through the official club channels and the event website volksfeste-in-deutschland.de.
As in previous years, the "Privileged" Marksmen's Guild will organize the festival with the proven mix of marksmen's competitions, folk festival attractions, and a convivial festival tent program. The date for 2026 was not yet officially set at the time of research in spring 2026.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in spring/summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
