Overview

The 2025 Schützenfest of the Bürgerschützenverein Saerbeck-Dorf of 1797, as is traditional, ran for three days in the Münsterland with Sternkönig and Jungkönig shooting on Thursday, Königs- und Kaiserschießen on Friday, and a grand Schützen procession on Saturday. The reigning Schützenkönig — elected in 2025 — leads the club into the 2026 festival weekend.

Schützenfest 2025

In 2025, the traditional Schützenfest of the Bürgerschützenverein Saerbeck-Dorf of 1797 e.V. also followed the classic three-day schedule. Thursday: Sternkönig shooting, Jungkönig shooting, Kinderkönig determination at the Vereinslokal Dahms Hoff. Friday: Königs- und Kaiserschießen from 2 PM — determination of the new monarch. Saturday: Schützenmesse, grand Schützen procession through Saerbeck-Dorf, coronation of the monarch, and King's Ball in the marquee.

With almost 230 years of club history and an active membership base, the club once again confirmed its position in 2025 as a defining social institution of the Münsterland municipality of Saerbeck. Despite the municipality's pioneering role in renewable energies („Bioenergiepark Saerbeck"), the marksmen's tradition remains deeply rooted in the local community life — tradition and innovation go hand in hand.
