The scheduling two weeks after the Stoppelmarkt is a deliberate decision: The Vechta Stoppelmarkt in the second week of August practically engages the entire event audience in the Oldenburg Münsterland region. The marksmen from Oythe wait for the major traffic peak to pass and place their festival in the then quieter early autumn calendar — a clever program arrangement that ensures the festival weekend its own space.
