St. Hubertus Schützenbruderschaft Hagen

The St. Hubertus Schützenbruderschaft Hagen preserves the traditions of the Vechta district of Hagen, which, despite its incorporation into the district town of Vechta, has largely maintained its village-like club structure. The patron saint is Saint Hubertus – the patron of hunters, marksmen, and foresters, widely revered in Catholic Lower Saxony.

Gasthaus Jansen as the Festival Venue

The brotherhood holds its regular festival meeting point at Gasthaus Jansen in Hagen – a traditional village inn that has served as a club venue and festival center for generations. The combination of indoor and outdoor areas, a small hall, and an outdoor bar makes the establishment a typical North German club festival site.

One-Day Schützenfest on Pentecost Sunday

The Schützenfest is designed as a one-day event – a format that works particularly well for smaller brotherhoods with a clearly defined membership base. The date on Pentecost Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 2 p.m., allows for a concentrated program of mustering, a festive procession, the king's shooting, and the king's proclamation, concluding in the evening with a convivial gathering at the inn.

As with other Schützenfeste in the urban area, the BSV Vechta (Bürger-Schützen-Vereinigung Vechta) is a regular guest. The BSV participates in the festive procession, marching in uniform through Hagen with its own company. This networking between the city's BSV and the district's Schützenbruderschaft is a hallmark of Vechta's shooting club culture.
