Two Festival Days

The two-day format of the Großenheidorn Schützenfest brings the classic elements of a marksmen's festival into a concentrated form. Saturday is dedicated to the King's shooting, receptions, and a grand dance evening in the festival tent. Sunday features a festival service, a grand parade through the district, the crowning of the new monarchs, and the King's ball. This concentration makes the festival particularly intense — those who attend experience the entire marksmen's tradition in one weekend.
