Overview

The Schützenfest of the St. Pankratius Archers' Guild Gescher took place in August 2025 as usual at the festival tent in the town center. Three days of festivities with a church service, bird shooting, coronation ball, and a grand parade through the Münsterland town — one of the most traditional Schützenfeste in the Borken district.

The 2025 Schützenfest of the General Civil Archers Gescher of 1605 followed the classic three-day format. Kick-off Friday with muster, church service in St. Pankratius Church, and Grand Tattoo; Saturday bird shooting with subsequent King's Proclamation and evening coronation ball; Sunday grand parade through Gescher with marching band and ladies' corps. The festival tent at Huesker Parkplatz remained the central meeting point in 2025, and the shooting competitions of the youth department were part of the supporting program. With over 420 years of tradition, the St. Pankratius Archers' Guild Gescher remains one of the oldest shooting clubs in Westphalia.
