Overview
The BSG Essel Schützenfest 2025 took place on the Whitsun weekend of 2025 in Recklinghausen-Essel. Markus I. Rengel was proclaimed King in 2024 and reigned until the Whit Monday Bird Shooting in 2026, leading the Essel club life. The 2026 edition was announced for May 23-25, 2026, with three Recklinghausen guilds seeking new royal houses, making it a special Whitsun festival.
BSG Essel 2025
The 2025 edition took place on the Whitsun weekend of 2025 in the usual tradition: Holy Mass, Tattoo, parade with Schützen companies and King's Ball, Whit Monday Bird Shooting with King's Proclamation. King Markus I. Rengel reigned over the 2025/26 season.
Subsequently, the Bürgerschützengilde Essel announced the 2026 edition for May 23-25, 2026. With three Recklinghausen guilds simultaneously seeking new royal houses in 2026, 2026 will be a special Whitsun festival.
