The 2026 edition marks a special festival year for Brackel and Buchholz, as both marksmen's clubs are holding their festival weeks simultaneously. Marksmen's club members and visitors from all over the Harburg district are invited to experience the joint festival week.
Showmen, carousels, and the large festival tent give the event its special Volksfest character, making it a regular meeting point for generations.

Schützenfest Brackel
The Schützenfest Brackel is one of the fixed dates in the festival calendar of the city of Buchholz in der Nordheide. The Brackel Schützenverein is the organizer, hosting the festival in the Brackel district on the local Schützenplatz (marksmen's square).
Four Festival Days Together with Buchholz
The 2026 edition coincides with the 125th anniversary of the Schützenverein Buchholz und Umgebung von 1901. Both clubs are holding their festivals from July 10th to 13th, 2026, resulting in a joint festival week in the city area that creates a special atmosphere. Marksmen's club members and visitors can celebrate in both districts and participate in numerous events.
King's Shoot and Grand Tattoo
The King's Shoot on Friday determines the new monarchs of the club. In the evening, the Grand Tattoo with torchlight procession, traditional music, and a ceremonial honoring of the marksmen kings takes place, bringing together the club community and the public in a special atmosphere.
Festival Parade and King's Ball
The festival parade on Sunday afternoon leads through Brackel with marksmen, marching bands, and invited neighboring clubs. Afterwards, the marksmen's family celebrates the King's Ball in the festival tent with a live band and dancing until late at night. The Family Day concludes the festival with carousels, a children's king's shoot, and games.
