Schützenfest in the Bohmter District

The Schützenfest Bohmterheide is the annual traditional festival in the Bohmterheide district of the municipality of Bohmte. The shooting club has been preserving the tradition for generations and is one of the central pillars of village club life in the northwestern Osnabrücker Land.

Pentecost Weekend 2026

The 2026 edition takes place on Pentecost Saturday, May 23, and Pentecost Sunday, May 24. This places the Schützenfest among the many Lower Saxony shooting festivals held on Pentecost weekend.

Schützenfest Classics

As is customary for Schützenfeste in the Osnabrücker Land, the festival includes a clear traditional program: bird shooting, king's competition, proclamation of the new royal couple, parade through the district, king's dinner, dance evening with a live band. The shooting club's catering provides guests with beer, bratwurst, and hearty classics.

Bohmte — Municipality at the Wiehengebirge

The municipality of Bohmte is located in the northwestern Osnabrücker Land on the southern edge of the Wiehengebirge.
