Volksfest in the Bavarian Forest

The Schöllnacher Volksfest is the traditional Volksfest (traditional folk festival) of the market town of Schöllnach in the Lower Bavarian district of Deggendorf, on the western edge of the Bavarian Forest. The organiser is SV Schöllnach, which hosts the festival on the Volksfestplatz in Bachstraße. It is one of the central community events of the town and firmly anchored in the Lower Bavarian festival calendar.

Festive Parade and Bergratzen

The opening traditionally features a traditional concert by the local brass band, followed by the festive parade through the town to the festival grounds. In the evening, the Bavarian party band »Bergratzen« takes the stage in the festival tent, creating a lively atmosphere with dancing and music. Accompanying this are beer, hearty delicacies, and the convivial get-together that characterises a Bavarian Volksfest.

Schöllnach is located between Deggendorf and the Bavarian Forest in a charming landscape of the Bavarian Thermal Region. The Volksfest of SV Schöllnach is an expression of vibrant club life and a popular meeting place for the entire region around the Aitrach river.
