Overview

In 2025, the market square of Schneeberg in the Ore Mountains once again transformed into one of Saxony's most beautiful Advent scenes. The «Anlichteln» on the Saturday before the 1st Advent kicked off the season with mining music and a brass choir — 35 wooden stalls and the famous 10.80 m pyramid attracted visitors from all over Germany.

The 2025 edition stuck to the tried-and-tested concept: baroque market stalls, live demonstrations, Ore Mountains folk art, mulled wine, and Stollen. The city of Schneeberg once again described the market as well-attended, confirming its reputation as the «Christmas City of the Ore Mountains».

Characteristic of 2025 was also the close connection between the market square and the cityscape: Schwibbögen in the windows, fairy lights in the alleys, illuminated shop windows with folk art displays. The market is considered one of the most atmospheric and atmospheric in all of Saxony.
